Former President Donald Trump returned to the political stage on June 5, 2021, with a speech at the North Carolina Republican Convention. Since leaving the White House, Trump has been in political exile at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and more recently his golf club in Bedminster, NJ. Trump’s return follows a four-month break from public speaking and his continued bans by social media networks.
In North Carolina, Trump told the welcoming crowd that the survival of America hinges on Republican victories in the 2022 midterm elections. He railed against Joe Biden and predicted the Republicans would triumph over Democrats. His speech was highlighted by praising local and federal officials and candidates — and blasting radical liberal Democrats.
Trump described our country as being destroyed before our very own eyes. Crime exploding, police departments being ripped apart and defunded. He said that drugs are pouring in, gas prices are soaring, our industries are being pillaged by foreign cyberattacks. He said that there was a lack of respect for our country and our leaders.
He went after the country’s current leadership, assailing rising inflation rates, the cancelation of the Keystone pipeline, and foreign relations. Trump said that American freedom is being overtaken by toxic cancel culture. Our border is wide open, illegal immigration is skyrocketing at a level that we have never seen before.
Trump also went after President Biden’s family connections to China, first made public in October 2020. The former President said that the current administration is very timid and corrupt when you look at all the money they have been given as a family by China. Instead of holding China accountable, the Biden administration shut down the U.S. government’s investigation into the origins of the virus shortly after taking office.
Trump reminded the audience to never forget that Joe Biden and his family took millions of dollars from the Chinese Communist Party. They bought him off and he flagrantly lied about it to the American voters. If you remember it was a big deal in the final weeks of the 2020 election. The Biden Administration did not want to talk about the virus and how it could have been developed in a Chinese lab. The big tech and the fake news media did not want to talk about it either since China is now the largest media market in the world.
Regarding Dr. Anthony Fauci, Trump said he was vindicated when the chief White House medical adviser conceded it is possible the coronavirus could have originated in a Chinese lab. Trump said that the media, the Democrats, and the so-called experts are now finally admitting what he first said 13 months ago that the evidence demonstrates that the virus originated in a Chinese government lab. The former President said that Fauci has been wrong on almost every issue and Trump said that Fauci was very wrong on Wuhan.
Though he remains totally banned on U.S. social media, Trump continues to exert enormous sway over the Republican Party and frequently receives their highest officials, who regularly come to pay homage. Trump’s long-term plans continue to remain a mystery, and he has still not ruled out a 2024 run for the White House. With North Carolina under his belt, he is reportedly planning to resume political rallies across the country in coming months, leaving Republican party officials to wrestle with Trump’s continued influence.
