In Wilmington, Delaware, President-elect Joe Biden was delivering a press briefing about Vice President-elect Kamala Harris receiving the COVID-19 vaccine when he accidentally slipped and referred to her as “president-elect.” Was this another gaffe or just a slip-up about who’s really going to be running the country?
“I hope the president will clearly and unambiguously urge all Americans to take the vaccine once it’s available. I took it to instill public confidence in the vaccine. President-elect Harris took hers today for the same reason,” Biden said.
Biden’s cognitive decline has already been in question, but now people are wondering if he’s just slipping out the truth piece at a time. Those who voted for Biden, not Harris, are concerned since she wasn’t the Democrats choice during the primary. She was considered a ‘flip-flopper’ for political gain and is noted to have the most liberal voting record in the Senate, even surpassing Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Biden had previously hinted at an America run by Kamala. He had told people to vote for a “Harris-Biden” ticket during a campaign stop in Tampa, FL, even referring to her as commander-in-chief. In a September virtual roundtable, Kamala had also called “a Harris administration, together with Joe Biden” while discussing economic plans for the future. She then corrected herself by saying “the Biden-Harris administration.”
President-elect Biden has asked President Trump to ‘clearly and unambiguously urge’ all Americans to take the COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available to them and said that Harris receiving the COVID-19 vaccine on television was a way of bolstering public confidence in the treatment. This is after months of Harris telling voters that she would not take a coronavirus vaccine developed and endorsed under President Trump. She then received Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine, which was praised by President Trump himself.
President Trump has not received the vaccine yet since previously contracting the disease and may still have antibodies in his system. White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said he would receive the vaccine as soon as his medical team determines best. He also prioritized the vaccine distribution to front-line workers and those in long-term care facilities.
It’s not the first time one of Biden’s gaffes pointed the presidency in a different direction. It’s also not surprising when you give serious thought to the probability of this man receiving 81 million votes from his basement. Who thought he would actually run the country?
